DermaV Vascular & Pigment Laser
A precision dual-wavelength laser that targets rosacea, visible vessels, and sun spots — treating reds and browns in the same session, with little to no downtime.
DermaV is a dual-wavelength laser combining 532 nm KTP and 1064 nm Nd:YAG energy. The 532 nm wavelength is absorbed by hemoglobin in visible vessels and by surface pigment; the 1064 nm wavelength reaches deeper vascular structures. Most vascular devices do one or the other well. DermaV does both.
For redness, the laser energy is absorbed by the blood inside unwanted vessels, heating and collapsing them so the body clears them away. For pigment, the same precision targets excess melanin while cooling protects the surrounding skin.
Its cryogen cooling system and variable sequential pulsing are what make it comfortable and controlled — and unlike older pulsed dye lasers, DermaV rarely produces the bruising that historically kept people out of sight for a week.
DermaV is the right tool when your concern is color rather than texture or laxity — persistent facial redness, flushing, visible capillaries, or brown spots. Rosacea in particular responds well. It pairs naturally with medical rosacea management, which is an advantage of treating in a dermatology practice rather than a spa.

Persistent redness, flushing, and inflammation — alongside medical rosacea care when appropriate.
Telangiectasias around the nose and cheeks, where precision matters most.
Superficial leg and facial veins treated without injections.
Lentigines and sun-induced discoloration on the face, neck, and décolletage.
Small red vascular papules cleared quickly, often in one session.
Congenital vascular birthmarks, evaluated individually for expected response.
What to expect
We identify what is actually driving the color — vascular, pigmented, or both — and confirm nothing needs medical workup first. Rosacea often benefits from a combined medical and laser plan.
Sessions are short, often 15 to 30 minutes. Cryogen cooling fires alongside each pulse, so most patients report only a brief warm snap rather than real discomfort.
Redness and mild warmth typically settle within hours. Treated brown spots darken before flaking away over about a week. Diligent sunscreen protects your result.
Precision against the reds and browns that skincare cannot reach.
Results
Many patients see visible improvement after a single session, particularly with isolated vessels or discrete brown spots. Treated pigment characteristically darkens first, then gently exfoliates away over roughly seven to ten days — expected, not a complication.
Diffuse redness and rosacea generally need a course. Most patients are treated across three to six sessions spaced several weeks apart, with results building progressively over the following weeks. Rosacea is a chronic condition, so periodic maintenance keeps redness controlled rather than letting it fully return.
Common questions
Most patients tolerate it easily. The integrated cryogen cooling fires with each pulse, so the usual description is a quick warm snap followed by cooling. Sessions are short, which also helps. Numbing is generally unnecessary.
Bruising is uncommon, which is one of DermaV's main advantages over older pulsed dye lasers that frequently caused visible purpura for a week or more. Expect mild redness and occasional slight swelling instead, usually settling within hours to a day.
Isolated vessels sometimes clear in one session. Diffuse rosacea redness typically needs a course of roughly three to six treatments spaced several weeks apart. Because rosacea is chronic, maintenance sessions help hold the improvement long term.
No treatment cures rosacea, and we will not tell you otherwise. What DermaV does well is reduce the visible redness and vessels substantially. Combined with trigger management and medical therapy, most patients keep rosacea well controlled over time.
IPL emits many wavelengths at once and covers broad, mixed concerns. DermaV delivers specific wavelengths tuned to vascular and pigmented targets, which generally means more precise clearance and often fewer sessions for purely vascular problems. Which one is right depends on your skin.
Yes, superficial spider veins on the legs can be treated. Larger or deeper varicose veins are a different problem and may need vascular evaluation instead — we will tell you honestly which category yours falls into.
